About David

David is a native Long Islander, now living in Manhattan’s nose-bleed section. He attended Brandeis University, where he majored in philosophy and wrote his honors thesis on Plato’s Euthyphro. During his junior year, he studied at Yeshivat Hamivtar in Israel. After college, he studied at Yeshiva University. He received his J.D. from Fordham Law School, where he published a Note on free speech in public schools, and now works as a lawyer in New York. His blogging interests span philosophy, law, religion, and politics.

In his free time, David plays chess and follows the Yankees. He is currently reading: The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, by Edmond Morris and Is Democracy Possible Here?, by Ronald Dworkin. He recently read: Founding Brothers, by Joseph Ellis; Abba Eban: An Autobiography; and And From There You Shall Seek, by Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik. Reading suggestions are always welcome.
